Sock it to me

I love this easy sophisticated hair style, so I thought I'd share my version of the infamous sock bun. This look is perfect for those of us who have not-so-luscious-and-thick hair. It makes my fine hair seem thick, and no one would guess that there is a sock in there! It's one of my favorite go-to "hit the snooze button one too many times" do's.
It's also a perfect chic look for a night out on the town.

Also, this effortless outfit is perfect for a running late morning as well (which was the story of this particular day). Perfect for the office, it's classic with no need for a lot of added accessories.
Outfit details: Skirt-J Crew Pencil, this one is similar; Shirt- Ralph Lauren oxford, seriously worth having one of these in just about every color; Shoes-Calvin Klein via TJ Maxx, these  are similar; Sunnies- Urban Outfitters; Necklace-Tiffany & Co Keys

This is the tutorial I personally use
(I don't do well with the videos-too impatient)
You make the sock "dough-nut" by cutting off the toe and rolling it down.
Then, do the exact same thing from the end of your pony down to your scalp, spreading the hair around the sock to hide it as you go.
I tuck in fly aways as I roll down, and usually don't have to use any bobby pins at the end-but keep some on stand by just in case.

Good luck and happy Monday!

  1. I have yet to actually use a sock in any of my "sock" buns - I guess maybe I should try it! :)

    1. Definitely give it a try! It makes the process so much easier without the use of a million bobby pins.
