Treat Your Body Like A Temple
Source
Most people who know me know that I am pretty passionate about health and overall well being. You only have one body, so I believe you should treat it like a temple.
I don't believe in, or condone, obsessing over your looks or chasing after a certain "body type" that will never be yours. Instead, I believe in loving your body and treating it with respect. Thank your body for what it does for you every day and treat it right!

10 Ways to treat your body like a temple:
1. Monitor what you put in it.
This means making healthy choices, not only about what you eat but monitoring what you see and hear as well. Remember, "garbage in means garbage out". Treat your body right by guarding it and only letting clean, pure things in!

2. Fuel your body
Remember that food is fuel: If you feed your body junk, it won't preform to the best of it's ability. Don't deprive yourself either--if you don't put gas in your car, it won't run. Think of your body the same way and feed it delicious, high quality, fuel.
3.Strengthen your mind and spirit

3.Strengthen your mind and spirit
Control your stress levels and strengthen you spiritual well being with meditation. A common mistake people make is thinking that meditation is associated with religion, however, it is used to strengthen the spiritual well being of people of many different religions. Try quieting your mind and focusing on your blessings.
4. Protect your skin (and your eyes)
Wear sunscreen and UV protective sunglasses when outdoors. No one knows your body better than you so get familiar with it! Check your skin for abnormalities like new moles or sunspots, or moles that change color or shape.

6. Reduce stress
Stress is the enemy of the body. When you are emitting high levels of stress your endocrine system literally shoots adrenalin onto your heart causing the fight or flight sensation. An abnormal level of stress hormone in the body can cause physiological as well as psychological damage. So practice deep breathing and stretching and take control over your thoughts.

7. Strengthen your bones
Get your daily recommended amount of calcium and practice strength training. Even a small amount of weight can make all the difference, and if you start small you can increase with time!

8. Listen to your body
Your body does a pretty good job of telling us what it needs. Listen to it! When you feel full, stop eating. When you feel tired, go to sleep. When you have a craving, get the root of what your body is really asking for. And if something hurts, rest it. Listen to what your body is trying to tell you

9. Be preventative
Let's face it...no one likes going to the doctor. But don't let your fears or anxieties stop you from your yearly check ups. Go to the dentist every 6 months, pay a visit to your Gyno at least once a year, give yourself at home breast exams and if you are feeling any abnormal symptoms, get them checked out. It is your health, your body and your life-handle it with care.

10. Challenge it
Lastly, challenge yourself. Challenge your mind with puzzles and games. Challenge your muscles by trying a new exercise or increasing your mileage while doing cardio.
And after you do all of these things, pamper it. Do things that make you feel beautiful. Some of my favorites are getting a massage, painting my nails, or taking a luxurious bubble bath.
What are some ways that you treat your body like a temple?
